Jonathan “NerveGas” Zdziarski who is a iPhone hacker have released a hack that makes dual-boot possible on the iPhone.
He also reveals that the iPhone Dev Team have used dual-boot hack to JailBreak the iPhone for several months an felt it was the appropriate time to share this hack with the public.
The hack is useful if you would like to have 2 version of the iPhons firmware running at the same time. The hack is still complex and requires some command line to get it to work. Also you have to create partitions on your iPhone.
NerveGas have made a disclaimer, so be sure to read it before you start hacking your iPhone to allow dual-boot:
"The following instructions can result in PERMANENT, IRREPARABLE DAMAGE to your iPhone. This information is provided WITH NO WARRANTIES. All liability is DISCLAIMED.

One feature that has been missing in the iPhone is the Copy and paste functionality, but now iCopy brings Copy & Paste to at least your iPhone's Safari browser. You don't have to hack your iPhone to get it to work.
iCopy is a bookmarklet for Safari with allows you to copy and paste text or URLs within Safari on the iPhone.
iCopy allows you to copy and paste almost any text on the page, but beware that any text you copy is sent across the internet in the URL. This is not a secure way to sends sensitive information over the internet therefore don't copy and paste that contains important private information.
You install iCopy as a bookmark. The easiest way to install it is to either drag or Copy/Paste the link to your bookmarks bar in Safari (Pc or MAC) and then sync your bookmarks to your iPhone via Safari.
For the full guide to installe iCopy then visit the developer’s homepage here: iCopy

iPhone firmware 2.0 unlocked
The iPhone Dev Team have hacked the new firmware 2.0 before it's released by Apple.
The iPhone Dev claim thay have decrypted and jailbroken the new iPhone software, and published a series of screenshots of third party applications running on iPhone.
Apple has tried to keep hackers out of the popular iPhone, but now hackers from iPhone Dev Team have hacked a now yet released firmware. Every time Apple closes a hole in the firmware, hackers loves to try to hack the "impossible" to see if it is possible.
The next firmware 2.0 will include the SDK (Software development kit) and for now the hack only works for users who don't use AT&T.

Ultimate jailbreak?
Dev Team have been working on the ultimate JailBreak "Pwnage" and have for some weeks ago made a video showing how they can jailbreak there iPhone through iTunes. They told that they would release the hack when the SDK would be released, but it has been released so it’s properly just a matter of time before they release it.
Pwnage, uses a modded firmware on the computer to restore the iPhone via iTunes. When iTunes is done you have a new firmware on your iPhone and it’s JailBroken. So this must be the ultimated method to jailbreak your iPhone.
Below you can watch the video where they show how the Jailbreak via iTunes.
Dev Team will release 2 tools:
- iPwner
- IPSW Builder
iPwner allows you to use the modded firmware. It's seams like you have to use this tool one time, if you not restore your iPhone to a original firmware. The you have to use iPwner again.
IPSW Builder is a tool to pre-JailBreak the firmware. We don't know how easy or hard this process is going to be, but we hope it will be easily.

iPhone with p2p torrent application
An iPhone Hacker named Core, has managed to port a functioning P2P client based on Transmission to run on a iPhone, which is a popular torrent app for Macs. It is the first p2p torrent program working on the iPhone.
Tests of the applications shows that the program works but there is some things you have to consider before starting to download legal torrents:
- The program is at command line application, no GUI now
- Don't use EDGE only WiFi.• Your iPhone's battery will not last long, downloading torrents will drain your battery extremely fast.
- You can't use the installer to install the application

iPhone SDK Event on March 6
Apple have just launched iPhone firmware 1.1.4 yesterday and now News.com reports that Apple is planning the lunch of the awaited iPhone SDK event on March 6.
Apple is invitation cards for the "iPhone software road map" event witch is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, at 10 a.m. PST at its headquarters in Cupertino.
It seem like Apple might go the Nokia way and only allowing applications with a digital signature to be installed, so they can track back a developer. I my opinion it is a good idea so they can protect us from malicious programs.
Apple also announced that we can expect details on "some exciting new enterprise features”, which sound as a method to getting the iPhone to work more closely with corporate e-mail software.
Now we just have to wait and see the official Third-party iPhone applications that will be released and we can only have high expectations after we already have seen brilliant applications from the iPhone hacking community.

Navizons Virtual new version almost like real GPS
One of the most popular third party iPhone Application Navizon's Virtual have been updated so it works more like a real GPS, but it's still just an emulation of GPS.
They have introduced some new features to its Virtual GPS iPhone, the most interesting is "Moving mode" that will update your location every 10 seconds.
With iPhone firmware 1.1.3 you can pinpoint your location with Google Maps application and WiFi base stations and cell tower triangulation. The only problem with that is you have to hit "Locate Me" every time to update.
Another interesting feature is the new Navigation panel (Slider") which will stay on top of the map and allow the user to fully control of the application while your position is being displayed. Furthermore you can add your friends to your "Buddy List" and see where they are on the map, if they have allowed it. You can also set up to get email notification if you move outside a area, it can be used to notify home that you have left work or what you would like it to notify.
To install the new version of Navizon you have to have a JailBroken iPhone with the installer installed. Lunch the installer and go in Sources then "Edit" -> "Add" and enter http://repo.navizon.com/.

Jailbreak for iPhone 1.1.3 may have issues With GPS and Official SDK
The first iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak by Nate True seems to have some problems with Google Maps Faux GPS, changing EDGE settings and maybe problems running official third party apps from the SDK.
It is the homepage gizmodo.com that tells the story about the problems with iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak by Nate True.
Google Maps Faux GPS problem can be fixed by installing Navizon. But I think the biggest problem is that you may have problems running official third party apps.
The official iPhone Dev Team jailbreak was released yesterday, but gizmodo.com doesn’t have any experience with this jailbreak.
So if you haven’t installed the iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak, I suggest you wait until more information will be available so you don't get problems with your iPhone.
